Janette S. Levey, widely recognized as “The Employer’s Lawyer,” brings over 20 years of legal expertise to the forefront, with more than a decade dedicated specifically to Employment Law. Her passion for this field was cultivated during her role as the sole in-house counsel for a mid-size staffing company based in Central New Jersey, operating across the continental United States.
Janette operates under a fundamental belief: Employers can proactively address workforce challenges before they escalate into problems, lawsuits, or government audit-induced fines. Her focus is on helping employers navigate various employment law issues to prevent litigation, audits, employee relations complications, and the associated, often substantial costs. Janette is the author of the firm’s weekly blog, where she communicates issues impacting employers in plain English, avoiding legal jargon. She has contributed articles on diverse employment law topics to publications such as EEO Insight, Staffing Industry Review, @Law, and Chief Legal Officer.
Active in promoting workplace safety and preventing workplace violence, Janette has served on the Workplace Violence Prevention Institute, a multidisciplinary task force dedicated to providing proactive solutions to employers.
